New turbo/ new map?

Featured Replies

Hi guys/girls: all was going great with the remap and new wheels, then the turbo packed up...! 1.9tdi estate 09. Sooo just had my new turbo fitted. On drive home I don't think she is as fast as it was before. Does swapping the turbo effect the remap? Will I need to remap her? Took her to an indie and they defo did not reset her or anything?

Thanks in advance

Ps: I think it was just a straight bolt off bolt on new oil job..

you may have a boost leak or something but thats just a guess

any other problems using more fuel ??? lights on dash noise ?

Cheers: re fuel. Only drove home 20 miles so did not really notice fuel. I'll keep an eye on it. No lights on dash. I had the police siren noise when I took it in lol, but now she is running smooth and quite. Just seems slow. Well no it is defo not as quick as when it went up this morning! Mmm it defo feels like it's back to standard 105bhp.

Stupid question ALERT: do you need to run in a recon turbo?

Might need to adjust the actuator in basic settings on vcds (if applicable) .If its set up slightly differently it might be under boosting , or as stated possibly a small boost leak.

No need to run in

Have to go up with my tail between my legs :( as I asked them to quote to fit new turbo but they were very dear so took it elsewhere!! :)

See if you can see anything obvious first might just need a pipe fitted on better or something like that
