I struggle to understand why so few Brits go to this fantastic event tbh.

Haven't been for 3 years myself, but whilst watching this fantastic coverage I'm getting this strong desire to go back again next year

First nurburgring 24 hr I've not been to in 4 years grrrr ! I'm watching on this though.

I was wanting to go this year but the timing was bad as it was the same day as a big charity challenge, I was glad they organised a proper stream for it as I think last year you had to watch the Audi stream muted with the Radio Le Mans commentary but while the commentary was good, the lack of car engines was odd.  I wish they'd been able to show more onboards overnight as just showing a camera looking up the pits was not particularly exciting.  I just love how utterly bonkers the whole race is and offers such a tremendous variety of cars even just amongst the GT cars as the GT3 spec offers so much flexibility yet even after 24 hours the V8 BMW Z4 was still right behind the V12 Aston Martin.  What happened to the McLarens, I was disappointed not to see any sign of them today.

 

The funny thing is it takes me a while to get used to the huge laps as I was puzzled why the cars managing eight or nine laps was a good duration as even though I know it's a long lap, I just think of the laps on Le Man terms.  It's always the case that cars have a long way to limp round if they go wrong once they join the Nordchleife, I felt sorry for that Porsche driver at the end who carefully limped round with the punctured tyre which looked fine for a while but then ripped up the bodywork as you'd expect then ripped the door off?!
