A wheelie good question with big stoppers.

Hi all, just a quicky.

The car is in for paint having a couple of minor scuffs sorted out from when my sister owned the car so I've been on the tinterbob looking at wheels... A deadly thing!!!

I've just picked up some LCR brembo front brakes and had planned to stick with spiders and a 5mm spacer but I've kind of got the urge for a nice set of 18's.

If I go sown that route I've still not decided, I've been through the lust for bbs reps LM's, CH's, RS's, but 3dsm 001's are top of my list today!

So anyway, the car is a daily family car, coilovers going on hence the choice of 18's not 19's and I'm thinking 8j/8.5j not sure about 9j (any thoughts?).

It's only just dawned on me that if I choose a nice deep wheel, (I do like the look of a deep wheel!) that I'm going to have issues with fitting them with the bigger brembos.

Does anyone have any experience on any of these types of wheels whilst running the LCR brembo brakes?

Whatever you buy you need to consider the offset (ET) I have Brembo on the Golf and run Team Dynamic Pro Race 3's, these have an ET38 and just clear the calliper with about 2mm to spare! Width personally I would look at tyre prices and sizes and choose a readily available size tyre, then choose the wheel to suit.

Looks like you could just about fit a gnats wotsit in that gap :D

After calling all the wheel companies I deal with at work, there was only the team dynamics pro race 1.2 that anyone would confirm would fit the LCR set up without the use of spacers etc.

So after all the trailing about I've ended up buying a set of LCR 18" Ronal wheels to suit the brake/hub/subframe set up. I've always liked the but they are a pig to find a decent set as the LCR have a mega limited aftermarket wheel choice that most LCR's keep the OE wheels, but I fell lucky at the right time.

I've got a set of fresh new Yokohama AE50 tyres sat at work ready for the wheels turning up this week-uber excited!!!

Pics up soon.
