Leak Video: pipes going in to bulkhead.

Featured Replies

Hi chaps, I have just replaced the pipe and seals (which can be seen in the video) as I had a leak. Unfortunately this has had no effect and the leak is still present.

I have taken quite a detailed video of where the problem is but I can't for the life of me see where it is leaking from.

The leak, I would say, is definitely not coming from the seals on the pipes, it seems to be from below?

Could this be the heater matrix leaking from inside? I don't have any obvious wet spots inside.

Any help or advice will be gratefully received so thanks in advance.

Video on following link (it's 173 MB sorry about that! Lol):

Just for info, the start of the video is a distant shot and the end but is up close showing the pipes going in to the bulkhead and the pink coolant dripping from what it looks like underneath.

In fact I am pretty sure I haven't got those pipes seated properly as it has just passed all the coolant out lol. I'll try again and post back...

Yes so you can download it? It is a big video I did say that lol. It might not let you preview because of the size? The file is definitely set to public though.

So an update after spending most of the afternoon trying to solve this...

I just can get the rubbish bracket to seat properly and it might as well be made of paper it is that flimsy! I am going to order a new bracket from skoda tomorrow and see if that helps.

It is a terrible design. I have just bypassed the heater matrix for now with a piece of hose so I can use the car.

I've done it chaps, ended up taking the entire airbox out to give alot more space and fashioning a helper out of cable ties whilst I wiggled the pipes home and got them tightened up. I think this setup was designed by devil himself. Hard to believe anyone with an eye for engineering would put in place such a crap design/setup! Some pics below for reference
