Rns310 and mdi in mk1 octavia?

Featured Replies

Anyone managed to put rns310 , or any vag sat nav unit into a mk1 octavia? I'm trying to do this at the moment, managed to get it wired up and with mdi working to , but a couple of issues at the moment.

1. The radio code needs to be typed in when ignition has been turned off.

2. Carnt find satellites either

3. Need to sort out the radio aerial , fakra to old style connection.

Need to do more work but it's all good fun....

Radio secret Code is stored in the Dashboard, so at least a getaway+dashboard is needed.

Then, Dashboard contains IMMO, that is matched with Motor ECU + car keys....

--> I thinks It's really difficult, but keep trying

Yes , really difficult. So far the problems I have are..... Radio code every time ignition is turned on, and it dosent dim when lights are on. I'm also expecting a battery drain. I've heard of a box of tricks that can fool the radio/ nav into thinking it's got can bus. Anybody else done this before? Any help would be appreciated......
