Skoda Fabia vRS 1.9tdi Gearbox problem

I've lost first, second and reverse gears, I've tried to synchronise my gearbox but its not fixed it. Any suggestions please?

Yes the first gear had been stiff for quite a while

Do u have any idea what it can be I have spent all day iin mechanics and they told me is the Gear Shift Relay Rod

This sounds like it could be the selector for that has come loose inside the gearbox. It's a fairly common problem where the rivet sheers and the selector fork can't be moved anymore.

 

Unfortunately it means removing the gearbox to fix.

I'm having the same problems but Skoda reckon its my driving technique! I cant change from 1st to 2nd without 'crunching' only does this when the car has been on a long run and is hot even when I have let the revs drop to min! A few near misses on the motorway as a result. Is this the same problem do you think? Skoda fobbing me off, going to cost £762 to fix!
