Hi, a few months ago I bought a Y plate octavia (1.6i) and have been very happy with it, but recently there has been a problem. This first started happening about a week ago, it idles on very low revs, and sounds as if it is about to stall and sometimes (more worryingly) a lot of the power seems to have gone, when this happens it's quite a struggle even to get to 30mph. In addition to this, with the bonnet up, the engine seems to rock quite a lot and there is a ticking sound.  The strange thing is that sometimes it is absolutely fine, and sometimes even after problems, after a few miles it will be back to normal. Does anyone have any ideas as to what this could be?

Misfire? Coils maybe......

Engine rocking (not firing on all cylinders) get a new set of plugs in it to start.

As above check coils/coil packs?

Or

Possibly injector issue?

also check vaccum  hoses and crankcase breather
