Really squeaky seat, what's the best lubricant?

Featured Replies

My drivers seat is now driving me mad, it's squeaking all the time when I drive.

So this weekend, I'm going to unbolt the seat and try and get rid of the squeak by apply some lubricant to all the joints.

Does anyone who has done this before have some advice on the best lubricant to use?

I have some lithium spray that I use for the door hinges, or I could get some silicon spray or just stick to good old WD40, however I'm worried about seepage with the latter and staining the seat fabric.

Thanks.

I used this:

OK, thanks. Isn't that similar to WD40 though?

Wd40 is a water displacement.

Better with an oil or silicone spray
