Skoda Assistance.

Featured Replies

When I bought the car it came with 3 years breakdown cover from Skoda Assistance. The paperwork states it is provided by the RAC and lists the UK and European numbers to contact them.

Today I came across this link http://www.skoda.co.uk/owners/on-the-road/roadside-assistance which seems to state that Skoda Assistance has moved over to the AA.

My question is, who provides my cover? Did I get transferred to the AA from the RAC or does my contract with the RAC still stand? I am trying to find out now rather than at the side of a motorway at some Inopportune time!

Thanks.

My question is, who provides my cover?

Skoda Assistance - does it matter what livery is painted on the recovery truck?

The phone numbers for the AA cover and the RAC cover are different. Don't want to spent 20 minutes explaining what's going on the one company only to be told "sorry, your not covered with us".

aa won vw audi seat skoda contract as off 1st off june its should be aa that comes out from now on.

Phone the number and ask them then you'll be sure to who's coming out.

RAC, although when I phoned the 0800 number in my Skoda Approved Extended Warranty and Assistance booklet yesterday I was told that they has no record of my car being covered. After 8 minutes on hold things progressed smoothly, with an RAC van turning up within 30 minutes. A non-RAC recovery firm then transported my car plus family from Moto Wetherby to Woodall Services on the M1 where an RAC recovery vehicle was waiting for the onward journey to Cambridge.

My Skoda assistance ran out in April this year - my car reached 3 years old. I had a renewal letter through and considering you do get "everything" some Europe, Home, Onward travel, rescue and recovery etc I felt it was a good deal.

I got a letter back from the RAC informing me that I've now been moved from Skoda Assistance to the RAC direct and all future correspondance will mention RAC and not Skoda Assistance.

I've got exactly the same level of cover and the SA pricing, but justy direct with RAC.

As I've been moved to RAC directly it kind of gives the impression that possibly RAC are no longer dealing.

It is indeed now the AA who provide all breakdown cover for Skoda Assistance. The phone numbers have been changed to reflect this and a new brochure printed. Skoda uk emailed me a copy and said it would be available for download soon.

If it's any help, I have been with Skoda Assistance since July 2007, when I bought my vehicle new.

On renewal in 2010/11 I think Skoda Assistance was provided via the AA.

On renewal in 2011, Skoda assistance was provided via RAC.

On renewal in 2013 (I got 2 years until June 2015) the Skoda Assistance card I received was headed RAC on the LHS and Skoda on the RHS with Skoda assistance across the bottom.

Recently I received a letter direct from RAC informing me that from 1st June 2014 Skoda Roadside Assistance would be provided DIRECTLY by RAC and the telephone number was changing to a chargeable 0333 2000 999 number ONLY from a previously free 0800 526 625 land line number or mobile friendly 0333 202 1869 number, and to replace my current membership card with the new "RAC" only referenced card and update my mobile with the new contact number.

From 1st June 2014 all documents and correspondence will come directly from RAC and will no longer refer to Skoda Roadside Assistance.

Nice to know the RAC don't provide free phone numbers any longer and no doubt have a wide selection of chamber/pop music to listen to while kept on hold for lengthy periods or scrolling through the various menu options, all the while being charged national call rates.

Maybe us older Skoda vehicle owners have been "bumped" by Skoda Assistance direct and "sold off" to the highest bidder.

It would be interesting for any Skoda owners (with vehicles under 3 years old) with Skoda Assistance to advise on who their Skoda Assistance breakdown service provider is, either still being dealt with by Skoda or directly with a breakdown service provider.

I will be reviewing my options and breakdown service providers come renewal time.
