Can anyone tell me what this leak is (picture included)

Featured Replies

I am losing both engine water from the radiator although I cant see any leak from the actual radiator I know something is wrong as I have to keep topping up with water. I am also losing air con gas which is lasting around 4 weeks. I cant see any leaks from the radiators but have noticed some leak/stain on the plastic protective cover and don't know what it could be -  here is what I can see...

Again im not sure as i cant see any obvious leak from the radiators - I have checked the oil cap and there is no mayo substance there and that looks ok - Thanks.

What engine is that?

If you cant see the leak then you need to get a pressure test done.

as for the air con it could be 1 of many seals. again it needs checking.

I don't recognise that engine bay and can't see what's down there, however there is a special oil mixed in with the refridgerant, so if that's part of the a/c piping ten it may be the source of you a/c leak.

Water and air con gas....

Sounds like a stone got both radiators at the front.

I'd get it tested.

Thanks everyone the engine is a 15 year old toyota corolla 1.3, thinking of trading it in and getting something newer. The car has never let us down just a shame its going to cost nearly £500 to replace both radiators then no guarantee that will sort out the aircon.

Its also due 4 tyres and brake discs and pads so may be worth putting that money towards something newer, thanks for the replies.

It will cost far less to get it tested. No point replacing parts that may not be faulty.
