Tailgate locking  stopped working yesterday.all doors are working fine  

looked at other forums but still cant find problem

help needed please

Mine stopped working, found that the mech had got gritty and effectively jammed, sprayed gt85 all over, wiggled a few bits and hey presto been working ever since, that was about 6 months ago as well

Three places to look. 1 the lock 2 the cable grommet between the body and tailgate as the cable can break with the constant movement 3 I had a water leak at the hinge (Mk1 Estate) the water ran down into the body and down the harness to the nearest plugs and hay presto faults.

4th place to look is the CCU. After replacing everything else it was my CCU not sending a lock signal
