Hotter Skoda Octy vRS spied testing again

If only!

Lets hope so,why should Seat Owners only benefit.

Why a limited addition? STD!

Lol, another limited edition, think they've done more limited edition vRS' now than normal ones! :D  Those wheels are horrific too!

They look like these...

Cancel the S1 and wait for the SEvRS 280 bhp. Who knows it might have 4WD,black alloy with red highlights!!

Hmm, could be a hoot to drive, dress it right down, lots of fun.

Sounds daft but a slightly hotter diesel may appeal as well.

Like the 313ps 3.0 TDI bi-turbo from the Audi A6? :D With 4x4 obviously, otherwise you'd likely never set off due to too much torque!

Possibly a bit over the top there Shermo but you're on the right track, I was thinking of something a little less, around the 220 of the current Petrol version, the available transmissions and brakes would be able to handle it so it's just a case of tweaking the motor?

A hot awd diesel would be awesome. As would a hotter petrol.

That engine also comes in 204 and 245ps variants :)

TBH it would be nice to just have the 190ps Euro6 version of the 150ps/184ps engine that is in the A6

You would expect 204 to be the next natural step for the Diesel then?

Yes, but given the choice between a 184ps 2.0 TDI with pretty good fuel economy and C band for road tax, not sure the extra 20ps is worth it for band E road tax and worse fuel economy for 3.0 TDI. Maybe to jump to 245ps though :)

I'm not sure the car in the link is a prototype. why would skoda need to hide the car they are testing, just leave it std and it wont even get noticed. It looks more like a car modder that a prototype. One thing that is a bit strange is the camera on the roof.

The wheels look like Audi wheels because that's exactly what they are. It's just a test mule. Whatever is on top of the parts bin at the time gets chucked on.

Had that engine in my SQ5 that I just sold this week. It's IMMENSE! However in the little Octy (in comparison to the SQ5/A6/A7) it would be wild - too wild for conservative VAG to consider!

Somehow I think the Mrs would notice her TDI vRS had morphed into a TSI! A mate just took delivery of his S1 this morning, I REALLY want it and the vRS NOW!

Is the S1 not a little diddy and Noddy-like to look at? It may have a nice emgine, chassis and plush interior but £25k for the base model seems a bit expensive for a Fiesta class car.

It is diddy, but as the Mrs will have the Octy Estate why would I need a bigger car.

I seriously considered the S3 and the Golf R, but I figured why spend £5-6k more for space I don't need and for something less go-kart like!

As for noddy... Looks pretty mean to me (mine is going to be exactly like this)...

I also recently drove a Clio and a Fiesta and vowed never to buy anything other than German/Japanese designed quality goods! Once you've been there it's hard to go back!

P.S. Sorry for the thread-jack!

The S1 sportsback does look less Noddy-like than the S1 hatchback. The blacked-out roof and tinits do a good job of hiding the cars height, as do pictues from taken from below centre-level (looking upwards towards the car). I still think of Noddy whenever I see an A1 or Micra, but it's definately a step or up from the Nissan.

Got to say the styling looks like the standard versions rather than vRS (Look at the front bumpers contours near the headlights) which I'm suprised at if it is meant to be a faster version.

Yeh, that's a non vRS bumper on the rear too.

It's clearly in disguise.

Usually the disguise is black tape not a completely different bumper.

OR, could just be the new black edition with different wheels?

They can do whatever they want to disguise cars.

It's clearly a vRS as it has the 340mm front discs and larger callipers.
