Yeti Sliding Rear Seat Problem

Featured Replies

Hi, one of the rear sliding seats will not slide forwards for me, folded the seat up and had a look at the rail it slides on but nothing obvious, anyone else  have any problems with these ?

I had this same problem. Sit on the seat and put your weight behind it.

Like you I took the seat out checked everything and found nothing. Normally I do not subscribe to the 'use a bigger hammer' style but in this case it was what it needed.

Sit on the seat and put your weight behind it.

I have this problem but sitting on it and heaving to,no avail ??

Try lubricating it first.

Hi again, tried sitting on it and huffed and puffed but to no avail, I'll take it out and try the lubricant method next,

Isn't the middle seat you refer to ? It is fixed - unlike the left & right ones !

I was going to mention this but you beat me to it. The middle seat does not slide. Sort of makes a mockery of sliding back seats!

^ yeah but if you do use it, its a bit legs akimbo ;-D

Hi, I know that the middle seat does not slide, it's the outer left that I have the problem with . I'll take it out and lubricate it when II get a chance and let ye know if I have any success...

Can you flip it up and then drop it back down so that it locks into place.?

I did this on mine and I had not clicked the seat firmly into position. Once clicked into place it then slides OK

Hi again. took out the seat and lubricated the mechanism as best I could, it's a bit awkward to get the lube right into the mechanism even with a straw nozzle attached, put it back and still won't budge, I'll have a go at Zeanie's method above and hope it might release the stuck mechanism by shock treatment.

Is the locking mechanism releasing?

Are you pulling the handle up high enough whilst you are sitting in the seat?

Where are you, since you haven't put a location in your details?

In my case, it was mix of sticky rails (or whatever) and latch.  It finally released when I sat on the seat, trying to rock it to and fro, while squeezing and releasing the lever.  When it suddenly gave :whew: , I carried on to loosen it up a bit - no problem since, although I rarely need to move the seats.

Hi again, have tried all your suggestions, ie, sat on it and put weight behind it, took it out and lubricated it, pulled up lever as high as it would go, and  dropped it down into latching position , but still won't slide forward, hopefully I might get lucky like Brijo above ,

Just found this - soooo we have sliding seats - apart from the one thats stuck in the middle ?? That seems a bit bobbins doesn't it ? Maybe handy if you have a U shape load to take....

You can take the middle seat out.  And/or roll it forwards.  If you take it out you can push the remaining two seats towards each other for business class elbow room and variable legroom.
