Skoda Yet 1.2 auto

Featured Replies

I have my yet for three years and at least 5 times since i got it the car shuts down when I restart the Warning light for Exhaust system comes on and the car runs awful each time a new HT lead has been used and the computer reset. My Warranty ran out two weeks ago and it happened again today. Its now with dealer god know how much it will cost. Is anyone else having this problem.

Have they replaced the leads with the new ones that have a insulation heat shield around them?

As above, any new leads that have been fitted should have the shield around them

Further to my posting at the weekend about the HT leads it not that just been told its a major fault with the engine. I took my car in for a full service and MOT in May before the warrant ran out and the guy told me There was a knock on the engine which needs a further look. "Nothing to worry about we get you back in to sort it" it now turns up I may need a new engine the car has only 32000 miles and the warrant ran out a month ago. God know how long this will take and how much is that going to cost. I can't believe this is happening the main deal just keeps saying its out of warranty. Has anyone hear of this before and what should I do.

I cannot believe it is out of warranty if the fault came to light and was duly reported within the warranty period.

What make me so upset they found it during the service and told its nothing to worry about until the its out of warranty and the warning light come on.

I am very glad I have opted for the +2 years now. Perhaps you should ask what the fault is and is it related to what you reported while inside the warranty.

I have just been told they have to strip the engine down see if there is any damage to the pistons before a decision needs to be made.  They are trying to past the buck back to me. The service notes says has a engine knock needs further examining, but  any decision can be made but they still revert to its out of warranty.

I would have though work related to the same problem while within warranty should continue outside.

Perhaps a call to Trading Standards...maybe they can clarify or advise.

Try a call to SUK, as a knock was detected by the dealer under warranty and they said it was ok, obviously it wasn't.  Go over their heads and stand firm putting the blame on the dealer.

Why does it need a new engine?

More details required.

Elsewhere you were given advise, have you taken it. If so what have THEY said.

I have and had to the letter just had the deal back on saying Skoda are willing to cover 100% of the Labour cost and 70% of the new engine total cost to me of £587.00p. I am still unhappy but at least Skoda have come through for me, but I would advise owners if you when you start up and it sound like a sawing machine for a few minutes and then ok get it checked out ASAP.
