After a recent puncture and feeling a little ripped off due to a lack of choice of tyre places where I was I've decided to stop about getting a spare and to actually buy one.

Where is the cheapest place to get a black trinity alloy from at the current time? £189 new is best price to date I've found.

Will any scissor jack do or am I best spending £40 on the official Skoda set? Again anywhere cheaper?

I had been waiting patiently for one to pop up over the past few months and it paid off. A Skoda dealership stuck a used one (1 tiny chip) on ebay for £100 but didn't sell, they relisted and i offered £80 and they accepted. I would keep your eyes open and wait or check your local scrap yards, worth a shot.

Does it fit in the wheel well with a tyre on it?

A wheel with an inflated 205/40 R 17 & even a 215/40 R 17 tyres fit in the Spare Tyre well.

Thanks for the comments. Yeah been searching ebay and even used an online scrapyard search thing, but as yet no success/responses.

I'd not even questioned whether it'd fit in the boot, but thanks for confirming that it will!

If anyone is after a standard Fabia Steel Spare wheel & jack, a member has one in the 'For Sale' here on Briskoda,

 and some other stuff as well..

 

it will be a 195/55 R 15 tyre i would think.

I have got a standard steel wheel and a tool kit with jack etc. It is on freeads and the lot is only £10!!! Check it out if you are interested.
