warning light (engine emissions)

Featured Replies

while enjoying my drive to work this morning, the "engine emissions" light decides to come on.

after a look at the handbook to find out what it was all about i carried on to work, the car seems to run fine with no noticeable loss of power (as the book suggests), has anybody else had this fault, or has anybody got a likely cause/cost idea, as the warrenty is now out and the wife is doing her nut.

2002 octavia vrs.

Had it twice on our first octy vrs. A part was replaced under warranty - it was something to do with recirculating waste fuel IRC.

It also happens on the Fabia. I first experienced this whilst still under warranty so it was rectified. BUT less than a year later it came on again and it was the same 'lampa' switch so again it was replaced free of charge as it was assumed that the part was faulty. Guess what?? It's just come on again and is less than a year since the last one was replaced. The Skoda engineers said the light could be ignored!!!! Why is it fitted then?

You really need to get a diagnostic check carried out by a dealer or by someone with VAG-COM software to see if any fault codes have been logged.

Hi, same thing is happening on my MK2 VRS, also getting the EPC light coming on, and that does cut the power. Local dealer found faults on the diagnostic system but no remedy. Being taken to another dealer with more diagnostic kit to investigate further. Will let you know what happens.

hi i`ve got some serious issues with the vrs @ the mo all 3 warning lights are on EPC, engine and the warning triangle, with loss of power and does n`t smell very nice.

I dont really want to use it untill next tuesday when its booked in, been like this for nearly 2 weeks. As all the skoda dealers have gone on the south coast.

Any idea`s before it go`s in

Thanks in advance
