Volkswagen Caddy buying advice? 1.6 tdi

Hey

My mates off out to buy a vw caddy tomorrow. Just wondering if anybody knows of any specific things he should look out for?

The one hes looking at is a 2011 with about 50k on the clock with the 1.6 cr tdi 105ps engine.

The 1.6 tdi is pretty bomb proof isnt it? Iv read of a leaky rocker cover gasket before, is that a common thing?

Any suggestions or experiences muchly appreciated

Hi we recently bought a nearly new 2025 Skoda Enjaq 2025 85X and three weeks ago the following happened to my wife on a flat car park: I reversed into a parking space with empty spaces each side of the car. I elevated the P switch to red light position. I opened driver door and screen was on Goodbye. I got out of car and closed driver door. I opened rear right passenger door to remove a bag. Closed that door. Remembered I needed to turn off Interior Monitoring as dog was in the boot. Opened

I had a low coolant error flash up the other day (first time ever). Checked coolant level & it was a bit low. Topped it up & will keep monitoring. Question is where has the coolant escaped from? No obvious signs of any leaks. Mileage is 52,500 & next service is away off. Does the 280 have a weep hole in the water pump to indicate a new pump is required?

Generally, i dont like to be one of those people to open up another topic that has been exhausted time and time again, but after extensive research, i really am struggling to find a forum response that matches fully with my issue.
