Importing Fabia VRS to UK - Getting ready for IVA

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

I'm bringing my mk2 VRS back from Spain and I need to get the IVA certificate. The main things I was told I would need to change are the speedo (km/h to mp/h) and the dip on the headlights (reverse the order for the UK roads).

I've found some salvaged mp/h + km/h speedo binnacles on ebay for ~£80. Is it easy to put in the new one or do I need to have the speedo + tach calibrated?

Is there anything else I need to do before going for the IVA test? The car is only 1.5 years old and should fly through a normal MOT type inspection.

Cheers

James

As to changing the Speedo KMH  to MPH.   you do not need to change the Binnacles,

you can leave as it is now with the Needle reading KMH,

and have the Digital SET to showing the MPH.

Also for the IVA they will be checking the Rear Fog Light.

So you will need one on the Right Hand Side,  or maybe go for a Centre Fog Light fitted at the rear.

Look on the VCDS map for someone local that can swap the necessary coding for the country swap as many components are the same. Excluding the lights naturally unless there xenon.
