Seat Belt Chime VCDS ?

Featured Replies

I have borrowed VCDS from a friend in order to swith the seat belt chimes off as I am getting random warnings.

I have researched on here and Ross Tech and I am lead to believe I go to

17  coding 7 and then change the corresponding ?? (as in guide below) to the option I want.

The problem I am having is the current code on my car says 110F00 so it seems to be a digit too short so I am not sure what I need to change. Any help would be appreciated

  • 00??x0x: Options
    • +01 = Brake Pad Warning
    • +02 = Seatbelt Warning
    • +04 = Washer Fluid Warning
    • +16 = Sedan (only VW Jetta)
  • 00xx?0x: Country
    • 1 = Europe (EU)
    • 2 = USA (US)
    • 3 = Canada (CDN)
    • 4 = Great Britain (GB)
    • 5 = Japan (JP)
    • 6 = Saudi Arabia (SA)
    • 7 = Australia (AUS)
  • 00xxx0?: Distance Impulse Number
    • 1 = 22188
    • 2 = 22076
    • 3 = 21960
    • 4 = 21848
    • 5 = 22304
    • 6 = 22420
    • 7 = 22532

Before you do anything to change the coding of the car make sure you do a full auto-scan with VCDS and save the output so that you have a record of the existing coding.

With regards your seat belt chime issue, have you checked the wiring under the chair - fairly common for it to get damaged or the connectors fail.

If you still want to turn off the chimes with VCDS, this post may help:

Solved it, thanks for the help

Just a quick question while this is up. Can anyone explain to me what the distance impulse number is? Never heard of it before but mine is set to 1

Ok quick bit of googling and I found my answer lol
