Hello everyone, I have an Octavia SLXI 20V TURBO,got to be one of the best cars i have ever owned, fast comfortable and a very good handler unlike the missus. According to the service book my engine is an AGU, can a cruise control system be retro-fitted to this engine? My dealer says no but i am not sure.Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

There is a simple test. With the car parked, rev the engine to a steady 2-3k rpm then with your other foot, press the brake pedal firmly.

If the revs drop off it is drive-by-wire and cruise control can be fitted.

Hi tried that and the revs dont alter so i assume that it is a cable throttle and i cant fit a cruise control system?
