Lambda wire question

Featured Replies

Does anyone know what colour wires are the positive and negative to the heater element in the front lambda sensor as mine has fault code saying open circuit...

Hoping someone knows to save me some time.

Sensor has been swapped so it is pre harness plug

Anyone?

the heater wires must be both same color

Whys that?

What engine?

It makes no difference which way round the wires go in the heating element circuit, essentially it is just a resistor anyway, hence why they are normally the same colour.

so hopefully there will be 3 different coloured wires and 2 the same

Pins 3&4 are heater circuit, pin 3 is blue/red, pin 4 is white.

you're a star thanks a million now I can just check the resistance to see which is dead

The resistance of the heater should be 2.5 - 10 ohms at 10 degrees

The lambda itself is fine it's the wires going to the harness under the car
