knock noise from under drivers side

Featured Replies

hi all i have a annoying problem it only happens when stopped if i try to pull away fast theres a knock noise and when i break hard it happens very annoying i wanna keep it as i have plans  any ideas

Where is the knock coming from?

Have you checked wishbone bushings?
This can cause a knocking as the rubber wears and the joint starts moving.

droplinks?

Mine did this when accelerating hard in the wet causing wheels to lose traction, would get a loud knocking noise. Turned out to be the bottom arm/wishbone. Replaced and is fine but developed similar symptoms on left hand side. Should of replaced the pair. doh!!

As above I would check wishbone mountings / bushes. Also might be worth checking your dogbone mount for wear or movement.

update had car on ramp and wishbone bushes are not good lol

May as well fit new wishbones and balljoints?  Oh and track rod ends and droplinks ;)

Anyhow, go for Lemforder.

Mine does this and I have polybush wishbones new lower ball joints and top mount rubber and bearing

mine does this and it's only just been done by Clive.....

Is there anything that if it was loose could cause this? I found my dogbone mount bolt had nearly come out it was soooo loose.... tightened it up but still knocks when side to side or brake hard or accelerate hard... Could loose engine mounts do this? Anti roll bar loose?

Makes me very unsettled when driving so needs looking at
