mk1 octavia vrs, suspension upgrade

Featured Replies

Hi, my mk1 octavia vrs has standard suspension, can you upgrade to a slightly stiffer suspension using vag parts ie , golf , leon, etc, just looking to make it handle a bit better, thanks tommy.

Not that I know but the rear anti roll bar is a decent mod without swapping the entire suspension out for lots of cash!

Hi, from what car fits the vrs, cheers.

Hi! You can upgrade some parts for Audi TT/R32 ones i.e.

- Wishbone rear solid bush TT/R32

- ARB drop links R32/TT (massive difference over original - just changed mine yesterday. No more knocking and car feels more solid. Remember to not tighten the bolts before the cars weight rest on the suspension.)

1J0411316D Front Right

- Superpro/Powerflex front ARB bush - I bought the 19 mm superpro bush for my bar. It had 21 mm with plastic sleeves before.

- A good 4-wheel alignment will help a lot and isn't really that expensive.

In the long run, depending on your cars milage, you should consider getting a new set of OEM shocks with some lowering springs. I know this is somewhat of a more major overhaul but the difference will be like night and day.

Tyres. Expensive but your car will behave like **** with many of the brands. I know this is somewhat of a duckpond and a known fact but even though you can drive from A to B and your car won't kill you twice, you sure won't get all out of your car and if you're looking for handling upgrades then tyres should be on top of the list. My suggestion would be Dunlop Sport Maxx RT, Continental ContiSport Contact or Michelin Pilot Sport.

I know money is money but I don't get how some can put big bucks on all parts of the car but when it comes to tyres it doesn't matter as long as they are cheap and feel sticky.

No mean to offend anyone but some peoples choices are "interesting".

Good luck!
