As title really I have been reading a lot of the engine swap issues/engines dying and I am worried about any car I am looking at

There's a lovely 59reg vrs petrol 2L not sure engine code has done 49k no paper work saying it's had a new engine so I have concerns that I buy the car and it goes pop!

Any help or advice would be great :)
