VRS Brake vacuum issues

Featured Replies

Driving home from work tonight and I have intermittent brake servo action on the brakes, it seems ok when the revs have been up, I.e. above 2k, but if pottling in traffic I get a solid brake pedal,

It just seems like there is no or very little vacuum being produced, anybody else had a similar issue ?

Car is 04 fab VRS, with 143k on clock, suppose it could be the vac pump dying due to mileage

Very common as ive found out, its the vacum pipe thats probably got a split in it. Mines split on right hand side of the engine with a 1 way valve and then it runs along bulkhead and into the servo. To see it i had to take engine cover off and the air intake pipe from filter to throttle, the part is about £30, i would check as mine is a full pipe but an updated code shows it in parts, ive ordered 6Q2612041CD.

Hope this helps

Found the small vacuum hose push on connector snapped off at the servo pipe one way valve behind the MAF sensor,

It'll have to wait until I get back off holiday to repair it, fortunately I pick up my 11MY Skoda Superb estate tomorrow, so don't need the Fabia
