Octavia VRS buying advice

Evening all,

 

I test drove my first Octavia VRS today and what a car it is, if i had any doubts before they have definitely gone.

 

Im interested to know the things i need to look for or questions to ask. im looking at a car around a 59 or 60 plate with about 40,000 miles. im concerned after reading about the cambelt tensioner problems, has this being sorted out and do SUK know what the problem is?

 

Any advice is welcome.

Your better off asking these questions in the octavia mk2 section,the timing chain issue is with the tensioner & seems to be mainly the early 2010 cars that suffer,the pre facelift cars have a cambelt,the facelift petrols have a chain,there is a pinned topic all about it in the octavia section.
