dead rear sensors.

Featured Replies

A few weeks after a dmf change I started to have an intermittent fault with the rear sensors and reversing lights. Eventually they both packed up completely.

Looked at it today and one of the wires to the reverse switch was broken. It's repaired now but only the reverse lights work, not the sensors. There used to be a beep when I engaged reverse but nothing now.

Any ideas what it can be

No replies, must be a unique problem!

If say its pretty unique.

Obvious question: have you checked the fuse?

Could be a second broken wire, although that usually results in a long beep when engaging reverse / the sensors.

Yep, checked the fuse, the wire to the gearbox switch was broken but is repaired hence the lights working.

Where is the wire that goes to the gear box switch?

No idea where the wiring goes. Mine was broken a couple of inches away from the gearbox switch so was easy to find when I was checking for power in the plug.

I don't know how the power that goes through the gearbox switch activates the sensors or if there is a way send direct power to them just to check if they work.
