Immobiliser Issues

Featured Replies

Hi,

Having problems after replacing the key fob casing. Transferred the PCB and the immobiliser chip (which is still in one piece) but still need to get the new blade cut (is this dealer only)

I Can unlock and lock the car remotely, but the immobiliser kicks in a second or two after starting the car with the old blade in the ignition and the key fob/casing in my hand.

How can I get it working as it should?

TIA

How close to the lock barrel are you holding the key fob containing the immobiliser chip? ISTR it needs to be very close to disarm the immobiliser.

I was holing it an inch or two away from the barrel. Upon reading your comment I went back outside and held it as close as I could get to the barrel and it started and ran longer than it had before and the immobiliser icon went off on the dash.

Thanks to you I now have a working car again. so thank you.

No worries :-)
