Do I need to do something to enable USB

Featured Replies

If I plug my iPhone 5 in the USB provides power but it's not recognised as a device. Not an issue as I use Bluetooth. However when I plug my iPod in its not recognised either, is there something I need to do to enable USB or is if just that the devices are not recognised? I can understand with an old iPod but not a new iPhone. Bolero head unit BTW

Thanks

:)

As far as I;m aware the USB won't recognise the iPhone/iPad via USB, only charge it. You need to to use the aux socket via headphones or bluetooth. The USB will recognise USB sticks or drives.

The USB is only designed to play music from mass storage devices, so that's USB sticks and HDDs. To get full control and the iPod/iPhone recognised requires the mitsumi option. Apple devices do not operate as mass storage devices and require a specific lead for the mitsumi,
