Under engine tray

Featured Replies

Silly question for all you lowered Monte and VRS owners, have you had any issues with your under engine tray? i only ask as I have just replaced mine due to the large crack and hole, i assume due to it being lowered. Not a really large issue, as the part is cheap and easy to replace

Depends jow much you lowered your car and how fast you like to go over bumps :) . No problems so far despite massive amount of traffic calming features on my usual routes.

She's lowered 40mm and I'm slow over all humps and potholes. I'm thinking they sent the wrong springs and it's lower than I thought!

What springs did you have fitted?

I have the Eibach ones fitted by Skoda

I've cracked mine too. Parked up a high kerb, higher than I thought it was... Not replaced it yet but I could do with getting it done. How much did it cost for new one. Where you get it from?

Aren't the eibachs by Skoda 20 or 25mm?

Certainly not 40!

It was a special order, the parts guy at Hortons (Mathew I think) contacted Eibach, as the Monte Carlo specific ones weren't listed, I was then given the choice of 30mm or 40mm, so went for the lower of the two. Will check the box and packaging they came in (the old springs are in them)

The new tray was £35 plus fitting, but as I had it replaced during my service fitting was free.

Cool cheers mate. Not too bad then.

Wow, that is nasty, if the car is that low and the tray has been cracked could the '' bump/hump '' in the road have done any damage to what the undertray was covering !!!

The dealer assured me that all is well, the lowering hasn't had any adverse effect on the car. I don't think it's that low, maybe if I park in between a standard Monte and a lowered one at the meeting  to see?
