SDi rear brakes

Featured Replies

I stripped do the rear brakes and replaced the shoes this weekend on my sons SDi. I can't beleive that the auto adjuster method on the shoes is the best that VW et al, could come up with. Also the torque setting for the rear hub seems so mickey mouse! 70nm and then 30° because? We're not sure 70nm is sufficient!

The front brakes were done too. I noticed the consol bushes seem to be pulling out of the housing a little. Looks like I will be busy agaion next weekend  :)

I can't comment on the adjustors, but "torque to $value then add $degrees" is a common method of setting torques across a range of manufacturers and car parts these days.

Ahh I assume you are on about this wedge adjuster that seems to do sod all
