Vrs won't fire

Featured Replies

Parked up my 03 97k octavia vrs going perfect. Went to use it a week later turns over fine but won't fire no engine lights on but tcs light has come on. Fuses all fine tried another fuel pump really but behaves the same. Pump does prime when you open the door or re connect the battery but duzent run when keys on. Also worryingly does not communicate with vag com or snap on. Any help???

If you've got no communication with diagnostic equipment, check all feeds and earths to the ECU.

Can you communicate with other computers; ABS, airbag etc?

Hi mushtafa it's all a bit beyond me I think my uncle with the vag com said no communication from controller he got the green light at the plug but that was it. His setup is all genuine gear up to date and used fairly regularly as in at least once a week but he's never had this problem. Tried it on his own golf tdi and connected no probs.

He needs to check other systems on your car. If he can connect to others, it shows the data link connector has its power/earth/k-line wires working.

If you can't gain connection with the engine ECU, but everything else is good, it's either the power/earth/k-line fault or the ECU is dead.

Have you got access to wiring diagrams, ECU pinouts etc ?

Ok hoping to try this soon as I've been late at work all of the above will mean sumthing to my uncle. Are dead ecu's common only ever had 2 coil packs and a hazard light switch in 4 years ace car gutted it's not going

Remove your wiper blades and scuttle panel. Check the ECU for any water marks.

Hi I'm back and the octavia is going. No water marks outside ecu but everything was pointing to the ecu being at fault. My uncle sent it away for testing and it was definitely moisture inside it was repaired and refitted and away she went.
