Featured Replies

it should work... guys in trucks are using sometimes 4x adaptor. The only one negative think (for me) is the ,,cosmetics,,. It doesnt look very nice

In reality, it all depends on how much current you're trying to take.

You need to check your appliances and the car fuse to ensure there's an adequate margin between them.

Should be fine, I've been using a 4 way one for years now with no issues at all.

I'm in my car 12-14hrs most days as well

I use one of these from Ring Electrical. It sits in the cup holder in the centre console. Ring do loads of different types.

No problems with mine. I used it to supply a Mobius dash cam and Tom Tom  sat nav, and also charge my mobile from the USB port when required. This was on my old Octy 2 - USB redundant on the Octy 3.

till recently used two way adapter in the cigar lighter for charging my phone and running my sat/nav. but as previously said unsightly wires .

No, it won't burn out the cigar lighter fuse which is  25A if I remember correctly, which is hefty to provide current to heat the cigar lighter quickly .that needs comparatively  lots of power. The USB phone / Sat Nav devices won't draw more than about 1-2 Amps tops.

I use 1 from Energiser, "Y" shaped, and have had no issues with both on (one for TomTom europe XL - large screen) and girlfriend watching movies on mobile with mobile connected to it on the second port or phone charging.    use it on a daily basis, never had any issues. at the end of the trip i just take it off.

Thanks for that. I was going to pfaff (faff?) about with hard wiring but my lazy streak won out so I am buying one of these. Lets the family plug their stuff in too so a winner all round.
