VCDS errors 02071 and 01520: are they related?

Featured Replies

Getting the following errors on module 09, can clear them and they don't immediately come back but they do return eventually.

01520 is to do with the light/rain sensor which I know is playing up a bit as my intermittent wipers are not doing what they should in lighter rain, but just wondering if the other is related to it?  They do seem to appear at the same time so I am assuming so?  I've seen from other posts that its probably not much to worry about but the fact that it eventually returns after clearing is worrying me slightly.

Ill check the measuring blocks suggested by the Ross Tech wiki (http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/01520) when I get chance, but presumably be better if it is raining or dusky when I do it?

Yes, they are connected - they occured at the same time. If you clear them, do they come back?

I've just noticed you said that they come back after clearing. You are most likely looking for a problem with one of the CAN-Bus wires.

Thanks.  I had hoped it might be as simple as cleaning the sensitivity switch on the stalk, but I expect its a bit more complicated than that if it involves the CAN wiring.  Will check the wiring to the sensor this weekend.

Cheers

Adam
