disabling rear parking sensors with tow bar + bike carrier

Featured Replies

Anyone already fixed up a bike carrier to the tow bar?

I will test later today but interested to know how the parking sensors react and best way to mute them if on all the time.

I have front sensors as well.

Options. Turn down rear sensor volume. Turn off when activated first time with the parking button.

Cheers.

It the towbar is fitted properly, when you select reverse the parking sensors should be muted, and a picture of a trailer displayed..

If they are not muted they will only come on in reverse and unless you reverse everywhere its not  really an issue.

i have the factory fitted removable towbar and the rear sensors where not activated when the trailer or bike carrier is electricaly connected also the electric boot is deactivated on my combi, you can only open by hand but closing electricaly is possible

My electric boot still works (open and close), but can only be operated from the button on the boot itself (the button on the key and inside the car does not work).

This is how my Amundsen looks like with my bike carrier or caravan attached
