Random question on tyres

Featured Replies

I really like the look of tyres with coloured brand logo's. I'm shopping around for replacement tyres at the min. So was just curious if you can get tyres like this for a road car?? If not, why not! Just not a market for it?

Can't decide whether to go for Falken Ziex ZE-914 Ecorun (good reviews online) or the more expensive Michelin Pilot Sport 3. If I could get the Michelin's with a blue logo for example, I think that'd look pretty cool.

You can buy road legal Motor Sport tyres in various flavours.

Compounds, treads, prices etc.

Maybe look for BF Goodrich Motorsport tyres for a Logo,  they are Michelin.

If Big Logo Motorsport Tyres to look 'Racer' were easy or cheap to get, every wannabe and boy/girl racer will have them on their Monte Carlo

and Rally Inspired car.

Thanks for the response. I see your point.

It was really just something subtle that I thought would look good. Like just the standard Michelin PS3's, but with the Michelin logo in blue.

My very most favourite 'track day car' look is the 'Recovery Webbing Strap' actually touching or trailing on the ground.

Stylee Look 10 points,

function to tow a car out of a ditch -10 points.

Or you could cheat and use a tyre pen from amazon

Colour 'em yourself and tyre not to curb them!

I never really undersood them until I did a track day and they made me put the stupid towing eye on the front! lol..

They are designed to do a job, and they do it well.

But you are not in a slammed Saxo/106, Corsa, Civic etc with them hanging off the car all the time and touching the ground when there are passengers in the car.

Get a tyre pen for £6, you can get them in different colours. I got mine from the race shop at Oulton park! Not coloured them in yet though....

Yeah, I saw the tyre pens on ebay etc when searching about.

I'm not sure how that would look though. I'd be worried it might just look like some idiot coloured in his tyres lol. I guess if it was done well it would look alright.

When first done it looks spot on

Not quite as good after a coupla weeks tho

Ok for going to show n shine or briskoda meets I suppose

Agreed, look great at first, but you just need to keep re-applying to keep them fresh

Google  trs tow strap   for examples,

plenty of them on cars up your way.

A more durable but time consuming way would be to create a stencil and then spray paint them on?

You could even follow what the Lotus F1 team do and put FL on the front left etc......
