Buckets and harnesses

Featured Replies

I've got a pair of buckets to go in my Fabia when I get some subframes and harnesses.

My question is, where would the harness bolt into position? I know the long strap would bolt into the bit where my rear seat belts would have been. Where would the two side straps bolt into or would I need to drill and tap some holes into the car? (Hopefully not) lol

Is there a hole for where you'd normally bolt the belt buckle too?

And the other side is there a hole where you'd bolt the seat belt to at the bottom?

I'm trying to remember where we used to mount them on the mk5 fiestas back in the day! Lol

Ahh yeh that's a good point mate ! Does the belt buckle not bolt onto the actual seat base then I take it? I'll have a look when I'm home just thought I'd ask on here first !

I'm just using the standard 3 point seatbelt with a cg lock.

More than sufficient :)

Are you coming to the national meet Tom?

The belt buckles are part of the seat bases. I can get you a couple vag buckles if they're any use to you.

Only need a proper harness if you plan on rolling it :D

Is it a Briskoda only thing?

How many cars are attending? Not sure what to do! About the same distance! But I like USC for the variety that's there.

Sorry for the hi-jack Tom - info for both of us ;)

Haha :) I couldn't think of where to mount a harness without welding or cutting bits so just stuck with the standard belt

I found out i need snap hook with eyebolts not the bolt in anchor harnesses i purchased

Do some research into the angles the rear harness straps should run at, they should not be bolted to rear seat belt mount points as the angle is too steep, so if you have a crash the harnesses will pull down on the top of your seat and your shoulders and do you some nice damage.

Rear harness straps should go to a harness bar at the correct height, or a harness bar fixed into a roll cage, again at the correct height.

this. plus having them tight enough would make actually using the car 'normally' more than slightly inconvenient
