What colour are your seats and carpet?

Seats are charcoal and carpets black.

Ah yes you'll have Grey headlining [emoji106]

You need 2 capless 501 LED,s and 1 festoon 239 LED [emoji106]

Cheers mate. Is it easy to remove the original unit?

Yes just prise the lens off and either side of the Festoon bulb there is 2 T20 torx screws. Remove these and lever the unit out of the headlining and unplug the loom. The new unit is simply plug and play [emoji106]

Yes spot on. That's what I got too [emoji106]

Thanks Stormchaser. Have ordered these. Thought the canbus would be necessary for the main festoon light and non-canbus would be fine for the two capless bulbs. Hope I've got this right.

Yes thanks also Stormchaser! I haven't ordered the light but just the 36mm festoon light like you said. Should come today and hopefully can get it fitted!

You're welcome guys.

Don't worry about error free bulbs as there is no monitoring of them. I remember that some of the LED,s will only work one way round.

Enjoy :)

If i remember i think mine was a 36mm long festoon LED as i had one which was too long. They fit the Octavia number plate lamps which i know are 36mm.

My lighting unit and festoon bulb were delivered today and, as you said, it's a pretty painless job to switch it over. The festoon bulb I bought was 36mm, looks like the standard bulb is 39mm, but the contacts easily accommodate to fit the shorter bulb.

Good news. Pleased to hear :)

I have had the opposite! My bulbs came today (36mm festoon) and is too small to fit the bulb holder. Think I will have upgrade to the same as strormchaser and scgf

  • 2 weeks later...

Ordered a interior light from eBay from a 2004 VW Bora with map reading lights in Grey.

Very simple plug in light with LED,s :)

Wish they would make LED,s which look the same when lit. Anyway it's very bright now compared to OEM.

do your LEDs shutdown completely when you close and lock the doors or do they stay a little bright?

They go out completely. I had to try a few I had because some would glow afterwards. The festoon was the main culprit.

If you buy a festoon bulb with can-bus it should go out completely.
