Haldex oil leak

Featured Replies

Hi,

I was removing the stones from rear shocks only to see a drip of oil from the haldex clucth. Further investigation with the vechile jacked up I can see the unit is covered in oily dirt so it's been leaking a while.

It's been to the dealer, they cannot see where the leak is coming from so it's in for 2 days next week for a strip down. The worry is I go on holiday on Friday.

Anybody had anything similar

Is the oil leak definitely from the Haldex or could it be from the breather hole on top of the final drive (diff)? Mine was the latter.

Apperently I Am getting a new final drive put in tomorrow !

Under warranty, I hope. I had one fitted 5 weeks ago. My car now has the latest versions of the final drive, Haldex and Haldex ECU. What year is your car and what is the mileage?

My car is on a 13 plate with 16000 on the clock.

Just bedded the unit in with a quick nip to Cornwall .

My car is noticeably quieter with the new final drive. I must get around to posting a thread later today about how it failed.
