dogbone stretch bolts p/n

Featured Replies

I have ordered a new shift assembly bush + a red powerflex dogbone bush from awesome gti in another attempt to improve my notchy gearchange. From other posts I've read I think there is some stretch bolts that should be replaced. Does anyone have the part numbers for those?

Cheers Bowders yet again. Yeah I'm fussy too I'll replace them too. Any idea for torque settings for the centre bolt? I cant seem to find a definate answer on it.

And its been ok at that torque setting? I read someone a while ago tightened it to 50lb ft. Thanks again.

50lb ft for centre bolt ? No chance, would snap at that and would compress dogbone bush ridiculous to point you would rattle your kneecaps off.

It is not 50lbs ft even for the larger bolts to gearbox.

The 2 stretch bolt from dogbone to subframe are 15lb ft and then 90' turn

The 2 bolts from dogbone to gearbox are 30lbs ft and 90' turn.

Trust me.....

Its actually nm but he does say he tightened to 55nm. Seems high.

Read that thread and i actually posted on that thread stated 55nm was very high.

I don't see any site stating torque center bolt to 50Nm

I see lot's of sites asking the question and stupid responses referring to the bolt to gearbox torque being 50Nm which is not the question asked.

I have seen threads too that some folks have torqued to 50Nm only to get worst vibration and torque back down to 12-15lbs ft after a week or so

I would love to see you torque to 50Nm that center bolt as it will compress the new bushings so badly and you drive will have the worst vibrations going, so go for it,   if you want vibrations :D
