What difference did those grilles make in practice?  Any issues with overheating on a long run?

I had one on my pre fl yeti and found the engine warmed up faster in the winter, and never had any issues with overheating, plenty of air flow through the top grill, I left mine on till well into the spring, also stops the stones hitting the air con condenser.

Had mind on since last winter.

No problems at all with overheating, only downside is the external temp sensor over reads a bit.

Had to fit a lower grill cover to my last Yeti, to reduce the daily DPF regens in the winter; poor thing didn't like the cold

 

No such problem now; running a pair of TSI's

Came on rather sudden to be fair

 

Couldn't get on with the Octy III seat and off centreline set foot pedals, which appeared to be giving me increasing amounts of discomfort in my right leg, to the extent the doc said something had to change, meaning the car :S

 

So looked at a number of options including other brands but eventually settled on the Spaceback as a replacement, as it's similar to our Monte which I've never had a problem with comfort wise.
