I got a call from my dealer last Tuesday saying sorry mr Chapman your car will not be here for the 1st. It is on it's way and will only be a few days.

I mailed back on Friday and asked. Exactly where is the car, at the factory, on the boat or at the docs.

The reply was. The car is on it's way to the Garage. It could still be in production and "be on it's way to the garage". Assuming it arrives at the docks today it will still be a week to get it called in and PDI'd.

The down side is that I had to replan a weekend away, I have lost

Bad news but stay calm it's probably something beyond their control..I'm sure they are as Pi55ed off about it as you...especially if they are looking to get you to use their dealership for servicing etc not to mention the sales guys commision for the sale..casually mention to them about being out of pocket..they might give you a free tank of juice as a sweetener..

Explain the situation to him and see what he offers. Make a big deal about being without a car and they'll probably give you a courtesy/demo car to run around before yours arrives. The added bonus of this is that it's an incentive for them to get your car to you as quickly as possible

Went through the same thing with my Boxster, even though its not a brand new car. Had arranged date with garage and it slipped by 3 weeks before I got the car, the car had a fault they needed to fix before giving the keys to me.

I have just spoken to them and they are taking delivery of the Car on Friday. The are going to PDI it Friday and Valet it on Saturday, ready for collection on Monday.

Well pleased. That will make the weekend a good one with a new car to look forward to.

Monday night for me too, Lee. After 3 months' wait. Oh well, I'm sure it will be worth it for us both.

got to say this is happening a lot at the minute with cars I'm waiting for (for customers) orders keep going back while others are brought forward there is not alot the dealer can do, it is luck of the draw but you should find that your dealer should make some gesture as an apology.

Just dont be to hard on us
