Some Supermarket Fuel Prices down.

Featured Replies

I don't particularly care which fuel I use, when it says it's got a range of 10-20 miles on the computer, I go for the nearest place, whether that's a supermarket or 24hr service station where I can get super unleaded.

I might try normal unleaded next time to see if there's any significant difference.

Careful

My parents needed some fuel as they were getting low in their vw polo. After filling up at the nearest place to the, the car hasnt been the same since.

Soo much water in the fuel. Changed the filter, tried additives, its still coughing and spluttering hundreds of miles and a fuel tanks of decent fuel later.

Its a nightmare.

This is just to boost other sales away from the discounters impact on overall sales - Aldi, etc.

So it won't be for long,  if it has little or no impact on in store sales recovery.

We already get the Fuel the Supermarkets buy in from Main Land Europe.

How wonderful if the Likes of Aldi & Lidl did not just bring in foods from Mainland Europe,

but some of the 100 ron Petrol that is sold there and superior to the rubbish 95 Unleaded & 97 RON Minimum UK Superunleaded

sold by the likes of Sainsbury, Esso, BP etc.

That would be a very interesting move.

However, don't see any move by the discounters to do that in new stores being introduced around the  South West of England.

Never heard it mentioned by their executives either, so I think they appear to happy to increase their market share on in store sales - probably higher margins (?)

No change at mine as of 09:15 this morning.

If there is no collusion why do they all announce the same price changes (bar Asda) at the same time..

Same applies with most food prices it's a bloody joke!

Similar with depressed wages of supermarket employees and the like, these people probably go for George Osborne's benefits to support their crap wages, these benefit are also proposed to be cut, if the Tories get  back in at the next election!!

Just filled up a non fussy car at Asda with unleaded,  £1.24.9 a Litre.

The thing i like is Tesco in the Price War and Momentum 99 ron only being 5 pence a litre more than their 95 ron Unleaded.

Fuel has been nice and stable at around £1.30 a litre for ages. The odd couple of pence up or down is completely irrelevant compared to the total cost of running a car.

Sainsbury's Unleaded has been £126.9 -125.9 0ver the last month or so here with Super unleaded being £131.9 -130.9 over similar period.

Will be interesting to see the new prices later today when I call in at my normal filling station - Sainsbury's Chippenham, competitive area with Morrisons, Tesco and a few Non- supermarkets within a 2 mile radius.

The recent Tesco's promotion of up to 20p a litre off, has meant I've not paid over £1.30/lt for diesel for quite a while.

I'm guessing that the reduction announced will coincide with the removal of the promotion

It shouldn't, if the wholesale price has allegedly come down then they're making the same profit on a lower price.

But life ain't like that...

The price today  today in Avinigon was 123.5 euro - not sure on the exchange rate, but just over a £1 a litre? Slightly higher out in the boonies at 126.x

Round Dunkerque it was 130euro ish on our way down.

I'll fill up before I leave.

Unleaded @ Asda Darlington is 124.9 today i noticed, not sure about diesel.

The tesco promotion runs until sometime in 2015, will find out for definite tonight when I go to work.

My local has now dropped to 124.9 for standard and 129.9 for momentum (which I use).

The standard was what the momentum now is.

If it gets close to a stable 1.20 ltr expect the next chancellor to bang 5p back on.
