Anyone bought a gearbox from these guys?

Featured Replies

Most of the places on that estate are breakers yards and small units, have to say I have not come across these before down there, but in all fairness, I wasn't really looking.

You could check out someone like this - http://www.transmissionskent.com/, or this http://www.helicalgearboxes.com/ , both do their recon work on site and have good equipment. I should add I have no attachment to either, just seen a few of their jobs done through friends of mine.

Having said that, I'm sure there must be someone of equivalent quality up nearer to where you are based?.

I have no idea really. Ill have to ask around I guess. Are the rivets in the diff easy to replace?

Once the diff is out, then they are drilled out and replaced with bolts.............................................but to get to the diff is a gearbox strip, not so easy without appropriate tooling to reset it afterwards.

Most gearbox re-conditioners of repute belong to the same trade associations, perhaps see if the association has a re-conditioner in your area from their website?
