My PD100 manifold upgrade

Featured Replies

Hi everyone

Got a later style manifold from a Octi BXE/fabia AXR engine from a friend and discovered it's just a pd130/150 mani with a shorter neck, it's probably been covered before but hey ho

I was after buying an egr delete pipe but in the end I could not help my self as I made my first egr delete for the std pd100 manifold (I like making things lol), so I made another for the new manifold just had to be made a little longer so accommodate for the shorter neck on the manifold, came out pretty well I think made a gasket from some 1mm gasket paper with a little smear of instant gasket to help

Went a had a little drive about after and I didn't think it would of made much difference but it actually has my cars got a few other bits done mapped decat ect but it has given it a little more punch from about 2500k upwards

Here's some pics

Oh and anyone with a pd 100 ATD i would say myself it's worth doing if you can get the bits n bobs for the right price

Nice job, although I suspect that the extra punch comes from fitting a nice clean manifold in place of the filthy old one, it does look like a slight improvement in terms of design though.

if you can try and get the turbo intake pipe off the bxe too, it is much bigger and just has to flow better, even when you think the bxe engine is rated at the same power as the pd100 bar 5 bhp.

all the later fabia pd 100's have the 130 manifold and the bigger bxe intake pipe as std and most of those really fly compared to the older ones with supposedly the same power.

Yh funny enough I've found one for the later AXR intake pipe and it looks like a plastic version of the vrs Ali one, I checked my dads Octi BXE and that measures the same as my std ATD and looks a bit long and angled different

Can anyone confirm that the turbo intake on a AXR is bigger than a ATD ?

I have a BXE one on mine, it is pretty much the same as the pd130 but plastic, the axr one has a tapered flexi to attach to the small afm instead of the big 130 one, I just bought a section of silicone pipe and used that to go from the afm to the bxe inlet, I may get a pic tomorrow if I can walk by then.

Yes please lol would help me out

How much later? I have a 2004 atd pd100 and im wondering if changing the manifold would help? Im going to be fitting the airtec fmic kit aswell

All ATD's have the same inlet manifolds, only the later AXR have the newer PD 130/150 type

Been out a few more times since fitting and there is quite a difference, the more I drive it the more I can notice it, mpg is the same still seeing around the 60mark driving light, also went out last night with a friend who has a fabia vrs for a little play and now my PD100 pulls away from his quite nicely

Next on my list to try is larger turbo intake pipe vrs maf and S2000 filter with 3" cold air feed pipe and been looking at making some kind of heat shield if I put an s2000 filter on

So if anyone has a vrs maf or just the housing I'll be interested :)

Just a bit of irrelevant info, looks like that intake manifold with the shorter neck is off a BLT engine as they accommodate a separate anti shudder valve as well as an egr valve. The asz intakes have a longer neck due to not having a separate anti shudder valve. I found this out when I fitted an asz inlet to my blt. Totally irrelevant but may prove useful to have in this thread for reference.
