Hi All

Every now and then, the dash display shows a high average mpg. Yesterday it went up to 200mpg. Today it went back down to a more realistic 40's - 50's (on a long run). There are no error lights.

Any ideas?

You took your foot off the accelerator!

No, its not that. The mpg starts climbing and doesn't decrease. Doesn't matter if I am accelerating. It seems to go back to normal after its been left switched off for a while.

I thought maybe a faulty sensor???

You may just be confusing the different three mpg setting that you have:-

 

1. Instantaneous - 100% will show 200mpg at times

2. Short term

3. Long term

Nope. Never changed the settings. Just all of a sudden starts updating quicker and shows much higher mpg. Later on its ok.
