Idiot's question about A/C

Featured Replies

Hi there to all of you. My car is an 2010 1.2Tsi 77KW Roomster (left drive). I am the first owner of the car and after four years of happy Roomstering, it is the time to place my idiot's question. Excuse me but after twelve years of Skoda ownership, indeed in this case I feel a bit idiot and I am seeking for your help.

This is the fifth summer of the Roomster. This is the fifth summer that I am unaible to find out where is the A/C draining pipe is being located since I have never seen water dripping under the car as used to happen with both previous cars, an MK1 2002 1.6 Octavia and an MK1 2006 1.2 12v Fabia. Not even after a 260Km trip with the airconditioning module working.

A/C is working fine, pollen filter is changed at least once a year (I always forget to ask the mechanic), and there were never water drops within the passenger's side.

Thanks in advance.

I don't know for sure, but I suspect that it will drain on to the engine undertray and, in a hot climate, it will evaporate from there.  Therefore it will never make it to the road surface to leave a puddle.

Ok that make sense then, especially in my country where the temp is up to 35 or 37 degrees in combination with engine's heat it could be evaporated really fast.

Thank you very much.

I'd agree with that - the only time I see our Roomie "wet the concrete" is when it's cold out. Unlike my Chevvie - which seems to suffer from incontinence by comparison.

PS there's very few "stupid questions" only stupid answers! ;)

+1

I've never seen mine "wet the concrete" during the five years I have owned it.

But the A/C still works well, so I guess everything must be in order.
