Jangling Noise

Featured Replies

As a Fabia owner of 8 months, I am used to various noises and rattles, mainly from the dashboard area, and have learnt to locate and fix, or live with most of them.

Recently, however, a noise has appeared that I can't locate and is driving me mad.

It is coming from the near side rear (I think), and sounds like someone is sat in the back seat jangling a bunch of keys every time I go over a bump.

I think it's an interior noise, so I've played around with the seatbelts, lifted the seats up, etc, but can't recreate it when stationary.

Has anyone else experienced a similar noise?

Try giving the back box a slap. No really; the last time I heard that sort of noise from around there it was broken silencer baffles.

There are various threads on the Noise you describe.

So you have the Flap at the Back for Air Flow, that can get taped down.

Rear Doors Lock latchs that was replaced under Warranty on some cars,  some just put tape on.

Check the Rear Spare and Tool Kit etc.

Some found loose stuff in the rear pockets in the boot.

Then Suspension & rear Hand Brake Cable noises.

Quite a selection.

Best action is remove the spare, tools, rear Shelf, fold driver side rear seat, get in the Rear and have someone drive the car and try to identify

were the noise at the rear is.

The 2 seatbelt buckles on the left (where the middle seat and left seatbelts plug into) sometimes make this noise on mine.

Try pushing them apart and seeing if that helps.

Its a 2 second job, so worth a go.
