To good to be true..?

Featured Replies

That's scam based on a naive buyer paying transportation costs only and car money on receipt of the car. Since there's no car scammer makes quick £500 and finds another sucker.

However I was involved in buying classic cars from all over the world without seeing the merchandise and paying for it in full. You just need to know what you are doing.

Worth mentioning that according to Swedish law, any debt accumulated by the car is now moved onto the new owner upon purchase.

If they by some miracle write back. Tell them you have a friend in Sweden who can check the car. Pretty sure they'll panic. :D

I've see almost the exact same thing with the car advertised in NZ but supposedly in Australia. Scam.

I can't believe you even had to ask the question if this was legit or not!

Complete scam

Car at 25-33% of its true market value (me thinks not)

Thanks a lot everyone. Just hope they haven't managed to get money off anyone else! Bet there are thousands of these adverts around. Sure my brother will find a good one soon.

He's looking at Golfs as mentioned, anything else really comparible? He's 19, A3's and 1 series are to expensive and costly to insure. Starting a new job soon so will be doing 35 miles a day (current job is only 1mile away) and often goes up to Liverpool which is a 500mile round trip so wants something which will comfortably munch the miles too. Around £6-7k to spend.

I suppose he could try a Skoda.............. ;)
