Secondary air pump/injector removal.

Featured Replies

From what I've seen on here, the secondary air pump/injector is for the cat?

If my car has no cat, (de cat) then is there a need for this pump to be on my car?

I've looked at removal guides and it seems to be pretty straight forward.

Pimpmyskoda has a good guide.

Anyone know of any other guides and what resistor I need to get?

I have got the forge blanking cap, just need a little more advice.

Thanks in advance, Joe.

No real need to keep the sai as it Pre warms the cat . Also cleans up engine bay.

Here's my guide in the Octavia technical sections.

You should also check other guides there as you will find a lot of useful info.

Just a tad confused, u show a pic with 4 resistors with black cables, and before that pic, u show just one with a red cable... I've only just briefly looked at the guide, but how do u attach / fit the resistors. Cheers. Probably all explained in the guide lol

Just one thing, even if you fit the resistor, you may still get an eml light come on - some people do and some seem to be ok. If it does come on, get it mapped out.

I'm having bigger turbo and remap next month, so will do it then. This month is all about servicing and getting crap off the car that's not needed and replacing pipes etc :-)
